It is worth noting though, due to fact they are a global brand a large number of their users are based in the US and other counties outside of the UK.
Placing an advert on Indeed also works very differently to most other traditional job boards so there is quite a few pros and cons to consider.
How does placing an advert on Indeed work?
As explained above, Indeed works very differently to most other sites and operates a pay-per-click (PPC) sponsorship model as opposed to a standard credit.
They have also more recently started to offer a pay-per-application (PPA) method however this isn’t as common.
Can you post a job advert on Indeed for free?
In short, yes – however this is changing…
New employers can easily create an Indeed Employers account and post jobs for free, however you’re encourage to sponsor your adverts and they will quickly be lost in and amongst other employers who are paying for their adverts.
You are also limited on the number of adverts you can have live at anyone time – once an employer hits a certain size or posts jobs seemingly too frequently, Indeed will only allow you to post jobs with sponsorship allocated to it or suggest you buy a premium company page.
Should I sponsor jobs on Indeed?
Sponsorship on Indeed works similarly to job slots on LinkedIn or even Adwords on Google – you can set either a daily, monthly or lifetime budget against a job – although there are minimum allowances. and this method can quite quickly get expensive.
It’s a very effective model if you’re looking for lots of the same candidates, for example you want to fill a new call centre with lots of Customer Service Advisors or you need to recruit 20 Warehouse Operatives for your new distribution site.
Indeed themselves also claim you’re over 4 times more likely to result in hiring an applicant if the advert is sponsored.
