The government is funding the placements for 25 hours per week at the relevant national minimum wage over a 6 month period – this will provide you with valuable experience to help you find further employment. Also, during the Kickstart placement, your employer will provide you with training on key skills to help you move forward in the world of work. This may include setting career goals, support with your CV and preparing for future interviews, and building on your workplace skills; all in aid of making you more employable after your Kickstart placement.

Your Work Coach at Job Centre Plus will discuss the Kickstart Scheme with you if you are eligible and put you forward for suitable roles. Kickstart roles will only require basic training so you should have no concerns about being under qualified and organisations from all sectors and areas are signing up for the scheme; so there is bound to be a position that interests you.

“Our country’s future will be built by the next generation, so it’s vital that we harness the talent of young people as we rebuild from the pandemic. But this isn’t just about kickstarting our economy, we’re giving opportunity and hope to thousands of young people, kickstarting their careers and offering them a brighter future.”
